Searching for Orange Sunkist Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) for sale? These bright orange shrimp add a splash of color to any freshwater tank. Their vivid tones stand out beautifully against green plants and dark substrates.
Orange Sunkist Shrimp are a selectively bred variety of the hardy Neocaridina davidi. Unlike delicate Caridina species, they adapt well to a wider range of water conditions, making them a great choice for beginners and experienced shrimp keepers alike. They thrive in planted tanks with moss, driftwood, and plenty of hiding spaces.
They do well in neutral to slightly alkaline water and are less sensitive to parameter changes compared to Caridina shrimp. Stable water quality, regular maintenance, and following basic care guidelines will keep them healthy and breeding.
Orange Sunkist Shrimp naturally graze on algae, biofilm, and plant matter in the tank. Supplemental feeding is recommended every other day with high-quality shrimp food, blanched vegetables, or algae wafers to support their diet and maintain their bright color.
These shrimp are peaceful and community-friendly. They do best in species-only tanks or with other non-aggressive tank mates such as small schooling fish, snails, and other Neocaridina shrimp.
We ship our Orange Sunkist Shrimp as juveniles, about 1.2 cm in size.
With proper care, they breed readily in aquariums. Females carry eggs for about 3–4 weeks, and the young hatch as fully-formed miniature shrimp that can grow quickly in a safe, planted setup.
