Searching for Crystal Red Shrimp (Caridina cantonensis) for sale? These striking shrimp are among the most popular in the hobby thanks to their distinctive red and white coloration. They almost look tiny Japanese fighters (zeros) darting across the tank.
Crystal Red Shrimp are a dwarf freshwater species native to Taiwan. They thrive in planted aquariums with plenty of shelter and hiding spots. These shrimp do best in soft, slightly acidic water and are very sensitive to sudden changes in water parameters. Following our recommended water parameters will help them grow, thrive, and even breed successfully.
They require very little supplemental feeding if your tank already has algae, biofilm, or decaying plant matter. We suggest feeding every other day with high-quality shrimp food to ensure a balanced diet and keep their colors vibrant.
Peaceful and community-friendly, Crystal Red Shrimp pair well with nano-fish, and other caridina shrimp.
We ship our Crystal Red Shrimp as juveniles, about 1 – 1.5 cm in length.
With proper conditions, they breed on a five to six week cycle, making them a rewarding choice for hobbyists interested in breeding.
